RESEARCH & USER JOURNEY MAPPING
As an Attractions Cast Member on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, I observed several areas where theming and signage could be optimized to improve guest engagement and way-finding. This led me to conduct a detailed analysis of guest and Cast Member interactions with the attraction. By mapping out the user journey, I identified key friction points that impact both the experiential flow and thematic consistency of the ride. These insights formed the foundation for a set of conceptual improvements aimed at enhancing both usability and immersion.
IDENTIFYING PAIN POINTS & DESIGNING SOLUTIONS
Leveraging insights from the user journey map, I conducted a visual audit of the attraction, capturing images to document problem areas in signage, thematic cohesion, and overall guest navigation. To address these challenges, I developed targeted design solutions, including proposed signage placements and thematic enhancements. Each design was strategically positioned to improve guest wayfinding, reinforce narrative continuity, and align with the attraction’s intended futuristic aesthetic.

THEMATIC SIGNAGE & DESIGN APPROACH
In designing conceptual signage, I drew inspiration from the original PeopleMover aesthetic to ensure continuity while embracing Tomorrowland’s evolving identity. Recognizing that Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland retains a retro-futuristic charm despite its ongoing modernization, I intentionally leaned into this aesthetic rather than conforming strictly to the ride’s re-theme. This approach allows for a refreshed, cohesive design without requiring extensive thematic overhauls.
My sketches integrate elements from vintage Tomorrowland concept art, incorporating its distinctive shapes and dynamic lines into metal support structures for signage. Additionally, I am exploring enhancements to key ride show scenes—such as Progress City and Star Traders—to further elevate the attraction’s storytelling and guest immersion.
